Electrician in Phoenix, AZ

The Wire Guy Electric does licensed residential and commercial electrical work across Phoenix, Arizona: panel upgrades, EV charger installations, lighting, and electrical repairs.

Phoenix is Arizona’s capital and largest city, home to Camelback Mountain, the Heard Museum, and the Roosevelt Row Arts District. We work in Downtown Phoenix, Arcadia, and the Biltmore District, in historic neighborhoods and new developments alike.

Phoenix is split between APS, which serves much of central and north Phoenix, and SRP, which serves other parts of the city, including Ahwatukee. Electrical permits come from the City of Phoenix Planning and Development Department, which can permit a home EV charger over the counter when the existing service is 200 amps single-phase or less and needs no upgrade. We pull the permit and schedule the inspection for you.

Our Phoenix work also takes us near Desert Ridge Marketplace, South Mountain Park, and the Central Avenue Corridor.

Questions

Phoenix electrical questions

Utility, permits, estimates and pricing: straight answers before you call.

All questions on our FAQ

Who provides electric service in Phoenix?

Phoenix is split between APS and SRP: APS serves much of central and north Phoenix, and SRP serves other parts of the city, including Ahwatukee. For a panel upgrade, SRP’s service specifications say to contact both SRP and the permitting authority first, and SRP reconnects power once both approve the work; APS energizes a new, relocated or replaced meter only after the inspection authority approves the wiring.

Who issues electrical permits in Phoenix?

Residential electrical permits in Phoenix are issued by the City of Phoenix Planning and Development Department (PDD). Under the Planning and Development Department’s EV charger guidance, a home charger can be reviewed and permitted over the counter when the existing electrical service is 200 amps single-phase or less and does not need an upgrade; a charger that requires upgrading the service beyond 200 amps single-phase goes to formal plan review.

Do I need a permit for electrical work in Arizona?

Permits are required for all major electrical work. At The Wire Guy Electric, we can handle the entire permitting process for you. We pull the permit, schedule the inspection, and make sure everything passes.

Do you offer free estimates?

Yes. Contact us today to get a free quote. We'll come out, look at the job, and give you a straight answer on what it'll cost. No pressure and no obligation.

Do you have any hidden fees?
